Second Conventional Pistol Competition
The wind may have had an effect on our scores (any excuse is a good one), but it sure helped keep us cool on Sunday 29th June whilst competing in our second MRPSC “Bullseye Pistol” competition of 2009.
Turnout was very good and the average scores showed an improvement over the previous event – a sign that our members are getting used to “shooting under pressure”.
As always, the competition was divided into rimfire and centrefire categories and competitors fielded both semi automatics and revolvers. In the rimfire category, Clive Chipperfield led the way with 116 points, folowed by John B. Vincenti (104 points) and Martin scicluna (98 points). In the centrefire category, Michael Risiott came first with a creditable 122 points (the highest score of the day), followed by Clive Brockdorff and Roderick Grixti. The last two both tied with 111 points and had to have a shoot off to determine the final placings. In this last course of fire, Clive scored 54 points to Roderick’s 42 points.
