Episodes from the Great War

downloadThe Friends of the Maritime Museum?announces?that their Annual Seminar?titled??Episodes from the Great War? is being organised by the Friends or the Maritime Museum with the support of Heritage Malta

The seminar will be held on Sunday the 19th April 2015 at the St. Angelo Hall the Maritime Museum Vittoriosa. The seminar will commence at 9.30 a.m. and conclude at circa 12.00 p.m. This year?s seminar focuses on the First World War and we have lined up an interesting mix of contributions.? The speakers and the title of their respective contributions are:

  • Colin W. Garnett: ?The Rising Sun in Malta?.? Colin will speak about the Imperial Japanese Naval Squadron stationed in Malta: 1917 – 1919.”
  • Stephen Petroni: ?The incredible story of Gouv Kiau 4?.? Stephen will reveal the story behind a WWI German Naval pistol.
  • Antonio Espinoza Rodriguez: ?The 1915 Laboratory Wharf Disaster?.? Antonio will cover an event which few people know about and will reveal some interesting facts.

All those with an interest in Maltese heritage are encouraged to attend for what promises to be an enjoyable morning.
