Speaker of the House visits AMACS – 30 July 2013
The Speaker of the House of Representatives meets the Committee of the Association of Maltese Arms Collectors & Shooters (AMACS)
Following an invitation by the Association of Maltese Arms Collectors & Shooters, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr.?An?lu Farrugia paid an official visit to the AMACS Tigne? Point premises where he met the President and members of the AMACS Committee.
The Speaker thanked the Association for its considerable contribution over the past years to improve legislation covering the keeping, conservation and use of firearms for sports and cultural purposes. Dr. Farrugia further commented on the recent legislative improvements through which tourists may now participate in sports shooting under supervision.
The Speaker encouraged the Association to provide Parliament with its observations on any proposed changes to the EU Arms Directive so that the appropriate Committee could analyse the impact of such changes and recommend action according to the Lisbon Treaty.
