THE NEW AMACS STRUCTURE
Over the past months, AMACS and the clubs affiliated to it have been going through a major restructuring process aimed at streamlining the administrative tasks of each entity and creating an efficient system that leaves more time for the organisation of events for their members while keeping fees as low as possible. Moreover, this had to be done in time to meet the deadline of 31 December 2024 to submit their registrations with AIMS, the new regulatory authority for sport organisations.
We have tacked the entire process successfully, thanks to the great teamwork under expert guidance. Following the approval of amendments to the Association statute and the amalgamation process of some of the Clubs and the approval of their new statutes, the new structure is now as shown above.
The three sport shooting clubs are now perfectly aligned with the firearm licences issued in terms of the Arms Act 2005 and the Arms Licensing Regulations 2006, making it simple for applicants and current members to select the Clubs they need to join to apply for or acquire a licence.
The new AMACS structure gives the affiliate clubs full independence to carry out their individual administration and organise their events, while the Association provides the facilities and services to help the Clubs reach their goals. Every member of each club is automatically a member of AMACS.
The AMACS Committee is composed of the Executive Officials (President, Secretary and Treasurer), who are elected through the common vote of all members, and Nominated Officials, who are nominated by each Club to represent them on the AMACS Committee.
