AMACS 35TH AGM (SATURDAY 12TH DECEMBER) – UPDATE

We are pleased to provide you with an update for the 35th AMACS Annual General Meeting, which is being held at 13:30hrs on Saturday 12th December at the AMACS Tigne’ Point Premises (Lawrence Darmanin 10m Range in the Clock Tower Hall).

 

ONLINE ACCESS

If you are paid up for 2020 you may join the meeting online by opening this LINK and logging in with your AMACS membership number and mobile number. The latter must be the same number that is in our system. Once you join the ‘room’, you are requested to mute your microphone and press the ‘raise hand’ button when you wish to speak. The ‘chat’ button is to be used for voting purposes. The LINK will go live on Saturday.

 

NOMINATIONS FOR COMMITTEE POSTS

Two nominations have been received for members who wish to join the AMACS Committee. These are for Fabrizio Farrugia (2001) and Josef Galea (2118).

 

AGENDA

13:30 hrs:               Registration

14:00 hrs:               Commencement of meeting as per Statute clause 4.4.2

  1. Reading of the Minutes of the previous AGM;
  2. Matters Arising;
  3. President’s address;
  4. Administrative report by the Secretary;
  5. Financial report by the Treasurer;
  6. Motions for amendments to the Statute;
  7. Dissolution of present Committee;
  8. Presentations by candidates;
  9. Election for vacant Committee seats;
  10. Conclusion.

Members are to note the following clauses in the AMACS Statute:

4.1.4 Only members who would have renewed their membership for the current year by twenty-one (21) days prior to the AGM are eligible to vote in the AGM.

4.1.5 Members who, by the date of an Annual General Meeting, would not have renewed their membership are not entitled to attend the meeting.

Consequently, only those who renew their membership by Friday 11th December 2020 are eligible to vote.

 

MOTION FOR AN AMENDENT TO THE STATUTE

Motion proposed by AMACS committee to amend AMACS statute Clause 4.1.3, which currently states:

“Only those persons who have been full members of the Association for not less than five (5) consecutive years are eligible to contest Association presidency. In the case of Committee elections, candidates would need to have been Association members for at least three (3) consecutive years at the time of their candidature.”

It is hereby proposed to delete “for at least three (3) consecutive years at the time of their candidature.” and replace it with “during the current year
